There's a special kind of magic when four musicians really connect. From a gumbo of blues, soul and funk, The Hiptones have created their own sound – showcased on their new national release CD – recorded at Joe Camilleri's Woodstock Studios and Sony BMG Studios in Sydney, and produced by James Black. The rock solid rhythm bed of guitar, (Steve Smith), drums (Miguel Garcia) bass and hammond organ (Narmon ‘Brother T' Tulsi) is superbly overlaid by Snooks La Vie, a singer of titanic proportions who is also an outstanding harmonica talent.

Strong melodies, powerful emotions and non-stop music to make you groove have become a trademark of The Hiptones and their live shows have become legendary through 6 years of crafting a performance that is energetic, cool, hip and infectious.

Stylistically, the base of The Hiptones music draws from roots rhythm and blues, gospel, soul and funk and is heavily influenced by the moods and emotions of the best New Orleans artists the world has ever seen.
