NEW BEGINNINGS FOR BROTHER T - SUGACANE - SHOULD BE SWEET?

Brother T enters into a new phase of his musical career with the launch of SUGACANE, a new band featuring guest Adam Pringle (Sydney) who has previously performed with The Hiptones, and is a very sought after session man in Sydney. And the third member of this particular hammond trio is the extraordinarily talented Jamie Jones on drums. And some more exciting news. Brother T in his search for a new singer is bringing to Adelaide for the first time a newcomer female vocalist with award winning vocal talents.

Gail Page has simply got one of the most powerful voices you’re likely to hear in a long time. Close your eyes and you'd think you'were in New Orleans listening to one of the greats - Nina Simone, Aretha Franklin but the reality is Gail is a musical chameleon unlike any other. And Gail doesn't just sing, she tells a story. It isn't just the clarity and power of her voice, nor simply the genuine emotion behind the songs, she's one of a kind, unique, powerful and touching.

Launching her debut album 'Colours That Run' in November 2007, Gail Page hit the Sydney scene with a voice that loosens up even the most hardened of souls. Colours That Run” received 6 nominations out of a possible 7 available at the prestigious Australian Blues ”Chain” awards in February 2008. Gail won Best Female Artist, and Best New Artist; with “Colours That Run” picking up the Best Producer award.

Since then she has performed as a headliner at venues and festivals throughout Australia. Performances include Australian Blues Festival, Thredbo Blues Festival, Gosford Blues Festival, Goulburn Blues Festival, Tamworth Country Music Festival, Sydney Blues Festival, Patonga Blues Festival, and Blues on Broadbeach Festival

Friday night at THE LOCKLEYS will indeed be a special event, with special guest Tara Carragher kicking off the night with her own brand of lipstick rock, followed by SUGACANE lashing out on Brother Ts favourite funky music from Booker T and the MGs and New Orleans favourites, The Meters, and then of course introducing the astounding talents of Gail Page. It has been said that Gail leaves her audiences with the feeling they have witnessed something exceptional and special. And we all deserve a little bit of that action.

And its free.
